Village of Ste. Agathe signs agreement with Valley Fiber

Ste. Agathe, MB, September 14, 2020 – The village of Ste. Agathe is pleased to announce that an agreement has been reached with Valley Fiber to bring fast, secure fiber and wireless
internet into the community.

Valley Fiber is unique in its offering of dedicated fiber lines to each and every household, offering hardline security and guaranteed speeds rather than sharing speeds with your neighbours down the street. A wireless tower, connected to fiber, will be constructed in the village of Ste. Agathe to service the households outside fiber limits. Fixed wireless services will be available through Valley Fiber’s sister company VISP.

“Valley Fiber’s unique hardline security and ability to provide
enterprise-grade speed to local businesses, will help existing businesses access all of the digital tools they need to be successful. It will also provide an opportunity for future economic development, providing world-class technology for any business entity looking to set up shop in Ste. Agathe. We would like to thank Councillor Curtis Claydon and the RM of Ritchot for their support, without which this project would not have been possible”.
– Ren de Moissac – Director – Ste Agathe CDI

“We are excited to announce that the Village of Ste. Agathe has signed on with Valley Fiber. Having access to fast, reliable internet is no longer a luxury, it is an essential part of our lives, from our work to our schools, to keeping connected with friends and loves ones. Our service offerings go well past internet and include TV, home phone, and security. This agreement is the culmination of many months of working together with Ste. Agathe CDI, and we at Valley Fiber are excited to become part of the community of Ste. Agathe. Valley Fiber’s build is not a shared service build, which is more usual in fiber connections, but rather a dedicated service to each home and business. That means guaranteed service speeds and not up-to speeds, which limit a person’s internet capabilities. With the additional services of our Data Center, and VISP, our fixed wireless company, we are a one stop shop”.
– Conley Kehler – Valley Fiber Senior VP

In a digital world, Valley Fiber recognizes how much of our daily life is spent online. Deploying fiber optic infrastructure allows us to interconnect the regions critical institutions and critical social economic infrastructure (i.e. school divisions, hospitals, libraries, emergency service, etc.) Valley Fiber’s biggest success has been to bring the “Big City” technologies to southern Manitoba.
