This oversees the departments listed below pertaining to delivery of services to Valley Fiber’s customer base. Management and delivery of value-added products to the market is coordinated with Valley Fiber’s overall strategy and dynamically adjusted to opportunities experienced in the marketplace.

This role also works closely with sales, marketing and senior management including the CTO, to provide technology insight, support, and direction.

Identification, management and enhancing existing services is the responsibility handled by this role.

Overall management of resources, staffing and teamwork including interdepartmental coordination.

What You’ll Do:

Providing oversight for day-to-day operations of the following departments and department Directors and Managers:
• Network Operation Center
• Internal IT
• Network Architecture
• IPTV
• Digital Communications
• Datacenter
• Programming and Analytics

Overseeing and providing direction, mentoring and guidance/coaching on the following operational features:

• Provide leadership training, mentoring and coaching to all Services team leads to improve and build up future leaders and leadership skills.
• Take the initiative in thought leadership, innovation, and creativity.
• Develop, track, and control the development of annual operating and capital budgets for purchasing, staffing, and operations.
• Participating in managing and optimizing infrastructure assets to satisfy internal financial targets.
• Track, analyze and monitor over all operational metrics with input from team leads.
• Facilitate interdepartmental communications and information sharing.
• Provide feedback and teambuilding across all departments.
• Coordinate Valley Fiber’s vision with individual department goals.
• Leading the development of daily comprehensive overview metrics (Dashboard) for all departments under Services to provide easy performance overview as well as drill down capabilities.
• Work in partnership with business functions to build a strategy and roadmap that will support rapid growth.
• Participate in due diligence for organizational mergers and acquisitions.
• Participating in forecasting and recruitment of staff of all levels
• Provide budgetary guidance to team leads for the purpose of performance reviews and staff retention strategy.
• Perform performance and salary review for direct reports.
• Coordinate with dept. leads on conducting research and development including testing and proof of concept projects for enhanced and future service opportunities.
• Establish departmental key performance metrics and develop interdepartmental service level agreements to ensure project and task timely success.
• Establish and mentor staff members for analytical operations to create internal capabilities to interpret and organize data.

Responsible for regulatory matters, including annual reporting to CRTC assigned from Business Development, license review and compliance. Provision of regulatory advice to the following entities:
• Valley Fiber Ltd.
• Valley Fiber Manitoba Ltd.
• Wall Media

Partnering with CTO on:
• Lead the strategy for Technology Platforms, partnerships and external relationships including vendor negotiation and contract negotiation to ensure proper operations.
• Represent technological agenda in staff meetings and when making hiring decision.
• Identify, compare, select, and implement technology solutions to meet current and future needs for growth.
• Keep abreast of contemporary and future trends and best practices in the technology landscape.
• Create overall technology standards and practices and ensure adherence.
• Consolidate technology platforms and create plans for each
